1. We are an open district for students Kindergarten-11th grade. (18 month-k4 are offered through Training Station Child Development Center, located in the same building)
2. Each class offers core subjects and weekly enrichment classes which include, Art, Music, Computer, Bible and PE.
3. We have a safe, controlled learning environment for students. We keep our building locked from 8AM to the end of the day. That means our doors are locked until your student is out our door and into your car.
4. We do not require uniforms, but we do have a modest dress code.
5. We have smaller and limited class sizes, which means your student will get the one-on-one help they need in class. With a class of 12 or fewer, our teachers can offer individual attention and differential instruction.
6. School opens at 7:00 AM Monday-Friday for early drop off. This is the time your student can finish their breakfast. Class begins promptly at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM each weekday. All car riders must be picked up by 3:15 PM, otherwise they will be taken to aftercare. Students are considered tardy after 7:50AM and considered absent after missing half day of school or if leaving campus after 11:00 AM.
7. After school care is offered at Training Station (ages 5-12) for $10 per day. You will have to make additional arrangements with the school office if your student needs aftercare. There is aftercare available on early release days, professional development days, school breaks, and major holidays.
8. Each child will need to bring a lunch to school. Microwaves are available for use. Hot Lunches are available.
9. We use Abeka curriculum which is aligned with Christian values. Imagine a faith-filled, education focused school where students love to learn about Jesus. We believe that each child is unique and we will endeavor to teach our students with their unique qualities in mind. It is our belief that every child learns differently so we will use bookwork, outdoor learning, and field trips to enhance their learning of concepts and subjects. Your student will have awesome projects because we want to create a lasting effect on them in their learning.
10. We teach cursive writing. Our students begin cursive writing in 2nd grade and it is continued throughout their education at LCA!
11. The Bible is taught and prayer is part of the school day. Students learn about the love of Jesus through Bible class and weekly Chapel. LCA does not focus on one doctrine but the love of Jesus.
12. Students will attend weekly enrichment classes such as Bible Literacy, Music, Art, Computer Technology, and Physical Education. Students receive a participation grade for these courses. We teach students how to build props for school plays, paint using different methods, sing and find rhythm. It is our goal to help bring out the artistic and creative side of your student. You student will learn how to use the computer, type, create reports and other projects.
13. We offer many services to enhance student learning. We are working with Texarkana Therapy to provide the best academic success for your student(s). Some of the services provided include:
- Reading by Design (dyslexia focused)
- Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy
- Individual Attention and Differential Instruction
- Intervention and Tutoring
14. If your student needs tutoring services, you will need to talk with your students teacher for further information.
15. We have a NO bullying policy! We do not condone bullying of any kind and we do our best to foster an atmosphere of love and friendship. We encourage our students to be team players and lift one another up.
16. We do not use common core and there are no state mandatory tests, but we will have quarterly bench mark tests. We do not believe in teaching for the test, but want our students to have a deep understanding of the subject before they move forward.
17. We foster a parental community and encourage our parents to help with any event or field trip. You will have daily communication with your teachers. We do not have a parent/teacher association, but we call on parents to assist with field trips, parties, and other school related activities.
18. Our teachers are Abeka certified. We do have licensed teachers on staff. All of our staff are qualified, trained, and share the vision of our school.
19. Transportation is not provided to and from the school. All students are considered car riders.
20. We do not have financial aid available or scholarships available. There are four payment plans available. If one of the payment plans does not meet your need, please contact the School Administrator to discuss options.
21. Re-enrollment for current students is completed in January. Open enrollment for new students begins in February. The last day to enroll for the school year is September 15th. Quick action by prospective parents is recommended due to the limited class sizes, but students are welcome to enroll during the school year, if availability allows.
22. Several of our staff members are CPR certified.
23. Students have water available all day and morning snack should be provided from home. Your student will need to bring a refillable, reusable water bottle to leave at school.
24. COVID-19 Precautions: 1) Social Distancing 2) Mask Optional 3) Daily Temperature Check 4) Facility cleaned daily and between classes by custodial staff 5) Hand sanitizer is used through the day. Our custodial staff is going above and beyond to create a clean and safe environment for your student(s).
25. Tuition & Fees. Any and all monies paid to Lighthouse Christian Academy and/or First Assembly of God for LCA through tuition, donations, or fundraisers are LCA’s monies. Lighthouse Christian Academy has no duty or obligation to return any of said monies at any time for any reason, as the money can be used in any manner the administration deems necessary. The registration/re-enrollment fee is non-refundable and there is no refund for tuition payments. An exception granted to does not constitute policy for anyone else, but only applies to that individual at that time and that circumstance. Tuition is due on the first (1st) day of the month. After the tenth (10th) day, your tuition payment is considered late. A letter will be sent to the parents at this point regarding the delinquent account to remit payment. If payment has not been received by the twenty-fifth (25th) of the month, a phone call will be administered to the parents of that student regarding the account to discuss payment options. Once a student’s account has been delinquent for more than thirty (30) days, a late fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) will apply to the student’s account. If a student’s account remains delinquent more than forty-five (45) days, the parents must make an appointment to speak with the administrator of the student’s future with LCA. If after 60 days your account is still delinquent, your child will be dismissed from LCA.

Student Records
Academic Records will be kept in the administrative offices and are the property of LCA. Requests and/or copies of records may be made at any time during regular school. The request for records must be made by a school official and the parent must sign a Transfer of Records form. Any school official should email the request for records to [email protected]. The administration has up to five (5) business days to respond and we cannot fax records. Upon transfer or dismissal, a student’s records will be transferred only if the student is in good standing with the academy as defined partially, but not entirely, by a current balance of the student’s tuition.
